Habitat
Wombats live on the continent of Australia, and on the islands of Tasmania, and the Flinders Islands. In Australia the live in the southeast tip of Queensland, eastern region of New South Wales, eastern half and southern areas of Victoria, and southeastern tip of South Australia. Habitats include woodlands, shrub-lands, heath, coastal regions, and hilly and mountainous ranges. They seem to prefer wetter, forested, rocky areas that are cooler. They also like sloping areas for a more proper burrow drainage.
